Dare to be different, say independents

14 June 2011

Retail Jeweller magazine launched its search for this year’s Inspiring Independents at London Jewellery Week’s (LJW) first-ever trade day on June 9, where a panel of last year’s featured retailers urged their fellow independents to strive to be different from multiple retailers

It was announced that “As an independent you want to remain true to your customer. It’s the look of the shop, its character and your character that draws them in. Whatever the multiples are doing, we ought to be doing the opposite. In the next five years rather than being committed to brand after brand, independents need to start taking on new designers to make themselves look different to the multiples”

David Law Comments, “The independent jeweller talks about making themselves different by introducing new brands and making their shops look different, but the brand they should be selling is surely themselves. Its time brands realized that it’s the person behind the service that clients want to meet.

In creating the Your Personal Jeweller brand I have designed a whole new experience in both customers service and the unique individual design concept. By offering 3D technology this allows my clients to create the piece of jewellery that they have always dreamt and at a price that suit that suits all budgets”

Come and say hello and experience a real difference

Retailers say “Consumers are shopping for unique pieces”

13 June 2011

Jewellery retailers have reported that over the last month, consumers are more conscious when shopping for bespoke pieces and more unique items.

David Law comments “This is something I have been talking about a lot over the past couple of years, but retailers may well have missed the point. It is not caution that is turning consumers to bespoke jewellery, allow me to explain why.

High street and online stores lose the mystic and beauty of that unique piece because the art of being able to speak to an expert, share ideas and innovations as been lost, the passion and desire for that ultimate design and the right price is key. High Street stores have the pressure of commodity on price and price alone,

David Law continues “The exciting world of 3D, bespoke jewellery has become affordable for everyone whatever the budget allowing the shopper to create their own unique piece in a relaxed environment, taking time to make this moment special. It’s all about personal service something that has disappeared in the retail market but certainly not with me.”

Come say hello and let’s see how we can explode your ideas into reality

ASK AN EXPERT

17 November 2010

I am often asked will I save money by buying my diamond on line?

On the face of it the answer might well be yes until you dig a little deeper. Firstly the online store will bombard you with the information that they want you to know, they will write about the colour and the clarity might even mention a little about the symmetry and the polish.

But what does that all mean to you?

Buying a diamond on a certificate and the above information will totally confuse you and might actually mean you spending much more money than you need to.

I have having been selling diamonds for more than 30 year and I am still learning, yet it ceases to amaze me how by visiting a few web sites any one can become an expert.

It is just not true,

You need to sit with a personal jeweller who will be able to show you samples of different colours, clarity’s and sizes of stones then taking into account not only your budget but information about the person you are to present they will be able to help and advise you so that you can make a conformed choice.

A diamond is the most beautiful and romantic purchase that you will ever make it is not a commodity that should be bought on price.

Seek out your own personal jeweller and let them put romance and mystique back into this special purchase.

You might just save money as well

Camel beige is one of the strongest colour trends for Autumn 2010

14 October 2010

 Beige as a garment ?

Chic for overcoats and jackets, female tube skirts for trousers, sexy dresses and lingerie fronts.

Who can have a tan ?

Any woman can wear beige with charm and style, whether you are light or dark haired. Beige is beautiful when you’re not too sun tanned so there are some colour differences between your outfit and your skin colour. This is especially true if you opt for beige outerwear.

The perfect accessories ?

To compliment your beige outfit

Why not add a touch of amethyst?

From the mines of Brasil  the amethyst is an extravagance in violet, it’s strong colour is as unique as it is seductive, and is the perfect accompaniment to your beige outfit

PERIDOT

19 July 2010

 Peridot

The vivid green of the peridot, with just a slight hint of gold, is the ideal gemstone colour to go with that light summer wardrobe. No wonder – since the peridot is the gemstone of the summer month of August.

BESPOKE ENGAGEMENT RINGS VERSUS MASS PRODUCED

19 July 2010

Bespoke engagement rings versus mass produced

Congratulations.  Chances are, you’re taking the next step in your special relationship and are ready to pop the question -

You’re ready, willing, and able to buy that diamond ring… though if you're like most guys you may have no idea where to start!

You might start by gathering information on the net about diamonds, you might even visit your local jewellery store, but the chance are you will just be a little more confused than when you started.

Both online and in store their aim is to sell you what they have, which might not really be what you are looking for-

So what does the bespoke root offer? and how much more does it cost?

Well you might be surprised, with the introduction of 3D technology choosing a bespoke engagement rings will cost you know more than buying on line or in store the process is exciting and simple, you will be part of the design process from start to finish, you will be educated on diamonds so that you will be able to select the perfect diamond for you, and finish up with something as unique as the young lady you are about to propose too.

But don’t just take my word for it, read real life experiences of other who have taken the bespoke root.

Choosing, Designing & Buying Bespoke Jewellery for the woman in your life...

01 July 2010

Women, shoes, clothes, chocolate and Jewellery!

Women love jewellery. Women also have a certain love affair for shoes, clothes and chocolate, but that's not what I'm talking about here.

Whilst some men see jewellery as some shiny object that costs a fortune, many women associate a lot of their jewellery with special events.

Thoughtfully Chosen Jewellery Especially for Her

Rather than something that you picked from a window display, Women want you to have put some thought into choosing that very special jewellery creation for them, for it to be something you took your time over. The fact that you thought to celebrate an occasion, that you explored different ideas, designs, colours, and that you chose something for a particular reason – all these things will add up to a very significant and meaningful gift. Presenting this well chosen gift in a well planned and timed situation will make that occasion even more special, too.

Creating Unique Bespoke Jewellery Especially for Her

Commissioning a bespoke jewellery creation is another way for you to make your gift unique and personal, and with modern 3D technology it does not have to cost you a fortune either. You can choose your own special diamond, and if gemstones are used, maybe the choice of colour is important – a reminder of a romantic sunset, a colour to complement her eyes, or simply her favourite.

Bespoke Jewellery that will stand the test of time

All of the thought, time and effort that you put in to helping create that unique piece of jewellery for the woman in your life will last last for ever. The romantic story of the time that  you presented it to her will become part of the creation itself. A story to reminisce with both friends and family, a story that will continue to exist as the piece of jewellery passes through the generation.

WHICH PRECIOUS METAL IS YOUR FAVOURITE ?

26 June 2010

EVERY ONE HAS A FAVOURITE COLOUR

but when it come to choosing a precious metal how do you decide? Do you select a colour by its content and durability or to match your skin tones or something else that you wear. If you like white metal you have multiple choices. There is Sterling Silver, White Gold, Platinum and also Palladium. If you like yellow metals you probably wear a lot of gold, its is very versatile and its colour can be subtly changed to red or pink depending on the other metals that are added to it. There is a metal to suit every taste and budget
